CE-9037XBB - XJ/MJ Steering Box Brace System

RockJock's XJ/MJ Steering Box Brace System adds structural reinforcement to your XJ Cherokee or MJ Comanche with unibody and steering reinforcement braces. This weld-on system includes inner and outer chassis reinforcement plates, steering box brace, support sleeves, tow hook support bracket and all required hardware.
The unibody chassis on XJ and MJ vehicles is constructed of multiple sheet metal layers that are formed and spot welded together. When subjected to off-road torsional forces, the chassis develops small fatigue fractures in high stress locations. The power steering gear mount is particularly vulnerable, due to the tremendous leverage required to control large tires in off-road conditions.
Heavy gauge steel plates attach directly to inside and outside of chassis rail and come in bare steel, ready to weld.
This brace kit will not interfere with the use of an Antirock or a factory sway bar.

Notes:

• Installation requires welding
• Will not interfere with the use of an Antirock or a factory sway bar
• Modifications to bumper mount may be necessary
• Chassis plates reinforce most vulnerable section of chassis to prevent failure of vital steering function
• Provides additional steering gear support necessary for large tires and off-road conditions
• Ensures proper load distribution during winching and recovery operation particularly important on uni-body vehicles
• Improves integrity of winch and bumper mounts, and strengthens and repositions OE tow hook provision for improved off-road clearance
