Adjusters
The Adjusters category includes threaded adjustment sleeves and double-adjusters for RockJock tie rods and drag links used in heavy-duty steering systems. These components are designed to provide accurate, repeatable steering geometry adjustment on lifted or modified 4×4 rigs..For detailed technical specifications and proper installation procedures, please refer to our Instruction Manuals.
What You’ll Find in This Category
- Adjuster sleeves / double-adjusters – For tie rods and drag links, these allow toe-in, toe-out, or drag-link alignment adjustments without removing the rod from the vehicle. In RockJock’s heavy-duty kits, both tie rod and drag link often feature double-adjusters for fine-tuning steering geometry after lifts or axle swaps..These high-performance adjustment components can be found through authorized shops via our Dealer Locator.
Why Adjusters Matter
- Simplifies alignment after suspension changes – Adjustable rods make correcting toe, tracking, and drag-link positioning much easier compared to fixed rods when you lift, change axles, or run larger tires.
- Enables precise tuning – Adjustable sleeves let you fine-tune steering geometry for ideal on-road handling, which is important in mixed-use rigs.
- Supports rebuilds & maintenance – Having replaceable components avoids replacing whole assemblies, saving cost and downtime.
- Essential for modified rigs – For lifted, heavy-tire, axle-swapped, or custom suspension builds where stock geometry is altered, fixed rods often cannot provide correct alignment or safe steering geometry.
Common Use Cases
- You want an easy way to re-align or re-adjust geometry after modifications without disassembling the steering each time.
- You plan to maintain and service the steering over time and could potentially be in need of a replacement adjuster sleeve.
What to Keep in Mind / Limitations
- Adjusters are only useful if the rest of the steering and suspension geometry is correct; if axle alignment, knuckles, or trac bars are off, adjusters cannot fully compensate.
- After adjustment, always check wheel alignment, steering center, and travel limits (full lock-to-lock, bump stops); incorrectly set adjusters can cause poor steering behavior or premature wear.
- Adjuster sleeves must be maintained: periodic inspection, and proper torquing of clamps & jam nuts is essential, especially for off-road or heavy-use rigs.
